ENVIRON is continually seeking qualified candidates to join our professional team. The following position descriptions convey the general qualifications and responsibilities of our entry-level Associate positions in Environmental Sciences & Engineering and in the Health Sciences. While seasoned candidates may join the ranks as Senior Associates, Managers, or even Principals, the same general qualifications apply to those positions as well.
Environmental Sciences/Engineering Associate
As a leader in the areas of environmental risk assessment and risk management, fate and transport modeling, environmental liability and exposure assessment, and strategic compliance management, our growing Environmental Sciences/Engineering practice is seeking candidates with the following qualifications:
Excellent writing skills
The ability to communicate complex technical issues clearly and concisely to both technical and nontechnical audiences
Strong analytical abilities
Experience with PC-based or network applications software
Bachelor's or Master's Degree in a relevant field of study (e.g.,environmental or chemical engineering)
Willingness to travel at least 25% of the time (some positions)
Typical responsibilities of an Associate Engineer include:
Evaluating environmental (soil, ground water, air, etc ) samples to support environmental fate and transport assessments or to determine the extent and magnitude of contamination for the design of remedial measures
Helping to develop comprehensive site or facility investigations by collecting and analyzing data to characterize chemicals in soil, sediments, surface and ground water, air, and building surfaces
Conducting environmental assessments of industrial properties, commercial and residential developments, undeveloped properties, and hazardous waste sites
Critically reviewing and abstracting regulatory requirements for all areas of environmental compliance
Defining cleanup goals for contaminated sites using Federal and state environmental regulations
Health Sciences Associate
ENVIRON has earned a reputation as a leader in the areas of new product approvals and product stewardship; product liability issues and toxic tort litigation; and quantitative human health and environmental risk assessment.
Our growing Life Sciences practice is seeking applicants with the following qualifications:
Excellent writing skills
The ability to communicate complex technical issues clearly and concisely to both technical and nontechnical audiences
Strong analytical skills
Experience with PC-based or network applications software
Master's Degree or Ph.D. in a relevant field of study (e.g. toxicology, pharmacology, biology)
Typical responsibilities include:
Reading and summarizing technical documents (e.g. scientific articles, Federal regulations)
Collecting technical data from Federal and state regulations or privately funded studies
Developing or using spreadsheets to estimate risk from exposure to various compounds
Writing draft sections of technical reports
