The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has begun a program of air quality monitoring at schools to assess whether outdoor toxic air pollution poses health concerns to schoolchildren. EPA selected schools for monitoring based on several factors, including results from EPA computer modeling analysis, an analysis conducted for a recent newspaper series on air toxics at schools and specific pollution sources near these schools. EPA has selected seven schools in Texas, four of which are located in the Houston area. This seminar will be especially relevant for corporate environmental, health and safety (EHS) managers and in-house legal counsel with responsibilities for facilities with discharges to the atmosphere.
