Clients turn to ENVIRON for help in understanding the potential health effects and environmental impacts of the products of the growing nanotechnology industry. Our health and environmental scientists bring expertise in a wide variety of disciplines, including toxicology, ecotoxicology, epidemiology, industrial hygiene, risk assessment, workplace monitoring and controls, fate and transport, emissions monitoring, and disposal. Our traditional multidisciplinary approach to addressing client needs is critical to managing the uncertainties inherent in this arena.
ENVIRON is committed to advancing scientific knowledge and applying it to risk management and other decision making. We contribute to the development of best practices by designing occupational health and safety strategies for nanomaterials, as well as evaluating potential risks associated with the use of nanomaterials in consumer products, including foods, cosmetics and pharmaceuticals. We actively shape the dialogue by participating in workshops, symposia, and conferences on the health and environmental impacts of nanomaterials. We also serve as advisors to two nanotechnology research centers funded by the National Science Foundation.
