Forum Decides on Checking how Formulators Comply with REACH
February 08, 2010
In December 2009, REACH enforcement agencies in Europe – through ECHA - formally notified their collective intention to focus their next joint REACH enforcement project on formulators of mixtures who are the first level downstream users in the supply chain. In the meantime, the first joint enforcement project – targeting manufacturers and importers - is ongoing through 2010. Regulators are checking whether companies have pre-registered or registered their substances and that SDSs are compliant.
The level of activity on chemicals inspections has increased significantly and our clients are directly affected. Regulators have arranged to inspect one of our clients – a Belgian manufacturer of metal based products - early in 2010. The French manufacturing facility of a multinational client was also inspected recently.
We work with firms across the supply chain to ensure they are REACH compliant; from providing strategic advice to preparing dossiers and CSR and tracking progress in SIEFs. If you are concerned about REACH compliance - as a manufacturer, formulator, distributor, importer or exporter of chemicals, formulations or article - let us know. Contact our team who will be able to help you evaluate and decide on the right course of action going forward.
