More than 16 years of experience in environmental consulting, including management and oversight of site investigation and remediation projects throughout the Midwest. He has performed numerous due diligence investigations, soil and ground water site investigations, and remedial actions across the country. Mr. Heinze also has significant experience in the use of natural solutions for streambank stabilization.

Experience Highlights

  • Project management for a prominent CERCLA RI/FS mixed waste landfill in St. Louis, Missouri. Assisted in the preparation of the required Work Plans. Directed the Remedial Investigation phase of the project including coordination of all aspects of field work including an overland gamma survey, geophysical survey, rainwater runoff and erosional sediment sampling, large diameter soil boring, downhole radiological logging, radon and fugitive dust sampling, monitoring well installation, and ground water monitoring and sampling. Extensive reporting to the clients and US EPA was performed.
  • Supervised field construction for a major Southwest Missouri CERCLA ground water remediation project. Project specific Remedial Action tasks included: installation of manholes, single and double-containment piping and leak-detection systems, and site grading and drainage. Also responsible for ground water chemical quality and hydraulic monitoring, air stripper tower treatment system maintenance and operational monitoring. Prepared site documentation for submittal to the Missouri Department of Natural Resources and the US EPA.
  • Project Manager for a long-term project including numerous investigations and negotiations with the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality for a RCRA facility with the ultimate goal of remediation. Developed a Remedial Action Plan for a 650 foot long trichloroethylene plume in ground water at a depth of 65 feet below ground surface, which extended off site a considerable distance. A 2,000 foot horizontal extraction well was designed and installed the length of the plume to extract impacted ground water. A Paragon remote control system was included in the design to monitor and remotely control the remedial system.
  • Conducted and directed Phase I environmental assessments of over 750 properties throughout the United States. Facilities assessed ranged from small commercial facilities and offices to large industrial facilities including, but not limited to: Former Manufactured Gas Plants (FMGP), hospitals, medical clinics, food manufacturing plants, warehouses, fertilizer production and storage facilities, grocery stores, and agricultural facilities. li>
  • Project manager for the largest and most difficult high bank stabilization project ever attempted in the greater St. Louis area. Developed geotechnically stabile bioengineered improvements for a loess high-bank slope approximately 50 feet tall along Crystal Creek in St. Charles, Missouri. The creek channel was moved near its predevelopment (stabile) location and the high bank was stabilized with a geo-cellular confinement system.
