ENVIRON scientists have the expertise and experience to evaluate both the safety and efficacy of dietary supplements and functional foods or "nutraceuticals"-critical steps in developing effective regulatory and marketing strategies in any jurisdiction.

Since creation of the Dietary Supplement Health and Education Act (DSHEA) in the US in 1994, ENVIRON has been actively providing US and worldwide clients with strategic, regulatory, and scientific advice related to evaluating and marketing products. Our work has encompassed safety evaluations, efficacy reviews, and assistance with complex regulatory issues.

We can assist clients by:

• evaluating publicly available literature to demonstrate safety of new dietary ingredients, as well as to substantiate structure/function claims and advertising, such as third-party literature.
• designing and monitoring research to demonstrate both efficacy and safety where significant data gaps are identified.
• determining current and proposed dietary intakes of new dietary ingredients and traditional supplements, such as vitamins, minerals, and fatty acids.
